Matt Casper, MA MFT. Providing psychotherapy in Los Angeles And New York City. Affirmative therapy for the gay community.

ABOUT ME

I’m kind and funny and warm. Modest when I need to be, and confident (not cocky) when it serves me. I love not cooking and appreciating it deeply when others do it for me. I scour flea markets for treasures that I’ll never take home, but collect tiny chairs and orange pottery. I’m aware of my limits, but willing to take on some risk. I see art as public dreams and dreams as private myths. I go by Casper, because the name just feels right to me. I’ve written a series of books for kids and a trilogy of books for teens, traveled the states in a van named Julius and played villains and nerds on TV. I forgive easily with a deep pool of empathy, am well practiced at setting boundaries and speak with compassionate honesty.

I have been a Psychotherapist for 20 years, and am licensed to practice in both California and New York. Currently providing in-person treatment in Los Angeles, with online treatment available in all of California and New York.

The image shows a white house with a deck and railing, situated on stilts or a raised foundation, with trees in the background.
A cozy living room with wooden paneled walls, a dark gray sofa with four colorful pillows, two small wooden side tables with lamps, and wall art depicting layered landscapes. There's a plant hanging from the ceiling and three narrow windows letting in natural light.

My Los Angeles office is a freestanding structure with no shared walls and a private entrance. Like a rustic cabin, covered in knotty pine and bathed in natural light.

Located in the heart of Silver Lake. Close to Atwater Village, Los Feliz, Glendale and Echo Park.

Sessions are provided both in person and remotely.
